Hello everyone, I’m Dr. Li Wei from the Department of Dermatology at West China Hospital, Sichuan University. Today, I’m very happy to have the chance to come to Paris to attend the 2025 EADV congress, and this is my first time attending the EADV. After these few days, I do have some reflections. Although I’ve attended AAD before, I get the feeling that Europeans do their work very thoroughly. I have focused mainly on some sessions about psoriasis and bullous diseases. In the field of psoriasis, for example, the work presented at the GRAPPA sessions allowed us to gain an understanding that currently, many dermatologists in China might also think that there seem to be already very good treatments for psoriasis, and that there isn’t much left to research in this field, so they would look for other hot topics instead. But in reality, we can see that psoriasis still has many unresolved problems. As a chronic disease, its comorbidities and other aspects all deserve more of our attention and research. If you’re interested in the new progress at the GRAPPA sessions, you can go to the GRAPPA official website to find related videos. Besides that, regarding bullous diseases, I have a strong impression that European dermatologists are working very systematically on every subtype of bullous diseases and making deep progress wherever possible, which stands out for me. I have been focusing on bullous diseases for several years, and sometimes I feel that in terms of diagnosis, especially treatment, we have been exploring these treatments, including traditional methods and new targeted biologic therapy, and some of our work is even leading internationally. However, when I further learned about our European colleagues' work in the diagnosis and treatment of bullous diseases, I found that they carry out even more detailed work. This makes me realize that if I continue to work in this field, there is still plenty of work for me and my domestic peers to improve and do better. Additionally, Dr. Wang Yiyi from our research team was very fortunate to receive this year's EADV scholarship. This kind of encouragement for young doctors is definitely worthwhile, and young doctors in China who are interested should learn more about relevant information. The EADV has done a lot of work to support the growth of young professionals. For example, after accumulating experience in certain research work, you can attend the annual European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology congress, which offers a limited number of spots for almost every country. Last year, Dr. Xiao Yue received the EADV scholarship, and this year, Dr. Wang Yiyi also received it. This is not only recognition of their past work but also encouragement for young doctors in the future. For me personally, the two main impressions of attending the EADV congress are that I need to continue pushing forward in my professional field and work hard together with young people to do better as much as possible.
